Webinar – The NFIP: What’s Old Is New Again

September 7, 2021

Rebecca Jones and Kenya Lovill of New Jersey's Department of Environmental Protection joined us for our latest webinar – The NFIP: What's Old is New Again! We heard from them about NJ's recent relaunch of the state's NFIP outreach program, which led to the development of a streamlined model ordinance process, a model permit, and a substantial damage template as well as an upcoming Floodplain Administrator Guidebook. Attendees learned about applicable NFIP lessons learned to assist local governments in meeting current and future floodplain challenges. Rebecca and Kenya also shared some resources with us for informing both state and local programs. You can view a recording of the webinar below and find a PDF of their presentation here. More information about NJDEP's model code coordinated ordinance can be found on their website, where you can also find links to locally applicable templates.
