Webinar Recap - Regional Floodplain and CRS Management: Facilitating Impactful Collaboration

Our latest webinar featured Shannon Hulst, CFM, Deputy Director and Floodplain Specialist for Cape Cod Cooperative Extension and Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution Sea Grant. Shannon's collaboration across the local, state, and federal levels has not only helped increase resilience in many communities, but also resulted in over $1.8 million savings for residents and businesses in her region.

In this webinar, Shannon shared the keys to successful floodplain management and regional coordination - including how she approached NFIP regulations, centralized resources across communities, and executed meaningful outreach strategies. She also shared the strategies she implemented to help advance the CRS ratings across multiple towns in her region, securing substantial discounts for many communities and culminating in her receiving the 2019 CRS Award for Excellence.
