Meet the team: Welcome Andrew Butts!

April 1, 2021

The Forerunner team is incredibly excited to add Andrew Butts to our team as an Inside Sales Representative! Read on to learn more about him.

Hi Andrew, Tell us a little bit about yourself!

I was born and raised in Salem, Virginia. I received my degree from Roanoke College in Business Administration. Right after college, I played professional golf for a year and a half before moving to a career in sales. I started selling lawn care at TruGreen, before moving to Portland, Maine in 2019. I did inside sales for ElleVet Sciences selling hemp CBD products to veterinary clinics for cats and dogs. I was at ElleVet Sciences for a year and half before transitioning to Forerunner.

What brought you to Forerunner?

After deciding I was ready to leave the veterinary industry, I wanted to work somewhere that I could positively impact other people's lives. Growing up in Virginia, I saw how flooding directly impacted the lives of individuals and thought Forerunner's approach, with the technology we have, gave me that opportunity to help others.

What are you looking forward to learning at Forerunner?

I'm interested in learning about how communities handle flood disasters. I'm also looking forward to developing my selling skills in this space. I have somewhat of a unique background in selling, and I'm excited to learn how that skillset can apply to this industry.

What do you do in your spare time? What's your favorite thing about it?

I play a lot of golf in my free time. I have recently taken an interest in golf course architecture and design, and how different course designers require different styles of play on their course.

What's your favorite fun fact?

My favorite fun fact is that if you shuffle a deck of 52 cards, the probability of getting that unique order of cards again in a lifetime is almost zero.
